2026 Student Furniture Design Competition
Student Furniture Design competitions were held at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, and the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA in May 2026. These competitions were established to showcase the work of future furniture designers who are creating pieces from Appalachian and Real American Hardwood species. The entries were judged on aesthetics, function, manufacturing and details that highlight the hardwood.
Winners received a cash prize, and the university received a donation to its design program. The pieces will be made available at industry events in 2026. See results from each school by clicking the links below.
